how YOU can support the School of Performing Arts faculty
and alumni funds!
Joseph Salvatore Liccardo Fund: For
the children and grandchildren of PA attendees and graduates.
Created by the Liccardo family.
Giveback Fund: Donations to this fund
will be given to students of arts schools for personal needs,
i.e. instrument repairs, toe shoes, etc. Initially we plan
to set up arrangements for students of LaGuardia HS in NYC,
Duke Ellington School of the Arts in DC and the High School
of Performing Arts in Hartford, CT.
The Diana Sands Memorial Fund: To honor
Diana Sands' life & great charismatic talent and her
symbolizing of PA's influencing the world of the arts. Dee
(Dolores) Dixon '54 and Barry Plaxen '55 have created two
programs, scholarships for students of the Diana Sands JHS
in the Bronx, and yearly awards for deserving people in
the arts
PA The First Ten: Franklin J. Keller Memorial
Fund: Donations can be sent to SPAA and will be
forwarded to LaG.
Dr. Rachael Yocum Memorial Fund: This
fund was created by Jo-Ann Bruggeman Victor (DA 64 and FACULTY).
Fund recipient information is now being considered.
John A. Mariani Memorial Fund has been
established by Mr. Braunstein and Mr. Trevor at the Alumni
& Friends of LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts.
Lewis Cole graduated from the playwriting
dept. at Performing Arts in June, 1963. He died October
10, 2008 from complications with ALS. According to loved
ones, He lived right up to the very last moment enjoying
and contributing to life in a most exceptional and admirable
way. "We will miss him more than we can say."
An endowment fund has been set up at Columbia University,
where Lewis (Cole) was a devoted and revered professor.
The Lewis Cole Memorial Fund will enable
one advanced MFA student per year to receive an award in
his name, beginning May 2009. There will be a special tier
for sponsor above $10,000, who will receive gifts of Lewis'
memorabilia. Checks of any amount should be made out to:
Columbia University, with "Lewis
Cole Memorial Fund" on the memo line, and
