Information

Editorial Policy

Our editorial approach prioritizes historical clarity, source quality, careful alumni attribution, and transparent independence from official school institutions.

Editorial Purpose

The editorial goal of HighSchoolofPerformingArts.com is to publish useful, readable, and historically grounded material about the former School of Performing Arts and related performing arts education.

Source Standards

Whenever practical, factual claims are supported by one or more of the following:

  • Official school or New York City Public Schools material.
  • Institutional archives and preservation organizations.
  • Professional databases and biographies.
  • Reputable interviews, books, and published historical sources.

Alumni Verification

Alumni pages avoid assuming that every person associated with LaGuardia attended the legacy School of Performing Arts. When a source only verifies attendance, the wording should say "attended" or "studied at" rather than automatically saying "graduated."

Corrections

If a factual error is identified, the publication may revise the page to reflect stronger evidence. Major historical claims should favor primary or institutional sources over unsourced lists and repeated online claims.

Independence

The publication is independently produced and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, New York City Public Schools, or any official alumni organization.
